Project management is a difficult beast. More than Gantt, or PMI, or Six Sigma, it is about putting together and then taking apart successful teams.

One of the better approaches to this is taking place in Helsingborg, Sweden. iDékraft specializes in certified education for project leaders - and produces solid results. Last year I gave a free talk at Svalorna a charity in Lund that focuses on Bangladesh. The director who invited me, Zal Thimmayya, has begun a new career as a financial coach. He strongly believes that it is not enough just to invest the money people must understand their money, and their money goals. His daughter Mira attented. As she is on the Helsingborg course she immediately asked if I could do the talk for iDékraft. After meeting the adminstrator Soraya Kabele-Senya, who is an extremely capable person, we went ahead this week.

The following feedback came back from Soraya who received the feedback forms:

“Thank You John! for today! I read you evaluations, they were excelent. Your grade was 5.3 of a possible 6. It´s very few of our external speakers who get that grade! You are in the top 3 according to the evaluations, and we have many speakers. I hope to have you back at Idékraft in Helsingborg and I will gladly recomend you to Uppsala.”

From project leaders high praise indeed. I believe what got their attention was addressing the wider issues of what is work, and how can we contribute to changing the global face of work as something that helps us lead better and more fruitful lives.

All in all, a good day, and one I hope to repeat again with the new intake next year.

Thank you, and good luck with your future projects, iDékraft!
