Autumn has turned wet and windy, though unseasonably warm, here in Sweden.
The major event in Sweden this weekend is the sense of frisson caused by the fact that cash machines might refuse to give us our cash. This is not some wild fantasy - due to the very deliberate robbery of an armoured car in the unions are asking that all armoured cars have police escorts; and that no money is delivered until some kind of compromise is met.
As I don’t remember the last time I used cash for food - we need the points on the loyalty card to pay for nappies - we should survive….
Swedes seem to enjoy this time of year, as Winter looms, new coats and boots are high up on the priority list; however, due to the warm weather these seem to be lying unbought on the shop shelves -I expect we’ll see the usual glut of sales soon.
I am currently preparing a course for writing successful CVs in English. I will post some ideas in on that soon…
